5. Website
Thanks were given to PW for setting up and maintaining the website. The website contains very useful information and we would like to encourage residents to visit the site and sign up to receive email notifications. Currently around 30% of residents are receiving emails. Please visit ADHHARA
6. Maintenance
Work was completed to repair some pot holes in HHA and remark some of the white triangles. Committee were very pleased with work undertaken by the contractors. The road sweeping was agreed at last AGM and undertaken. This was the first time this has been done and agreed not to repeat it. Residents will be encouraged to maintain the frontage of their properties if they are able.
A section of AD was repaired which has improved the road surface. Also all white triangles were repainted. Good feedback received about this.
2024 Planned Maintenance. The committee will discuss plans for 2024. This will be dependent on subscriptions received.
7. AOB
Discussion took place on ways to motivate more residents to contribute to the maintenance of the roads. Some very constructive comments were given. Residents might wish to chat with their neighbours to discuss in a positive way as to why they do not contribute. Emphasise that allowing the roads to deteriorate could impact on property prices, difficulty in emergency services getting access.
One resident contacted the Association mentioning that they were aware of residents who have cancelled their subscriptions because of the residents who fail to pay their contribution. They pointed out that all residents have benefited financially from the condition of HHA with it adding to the value of their properties. The subscription is only approximately £2 per week and felt everyone should be able to afford this, though equally appreciate that some residents prefer the old rural track, do not drive or are living on a tight budget.
A number of residents have reported finding dead hedgehogs in their gardens for no apparent reason. This is upsetting to hear of so many deaths. No cause is known. We would urge everyone to look out for these great little animals and in particular be careful with gardens pesticides such as slug pellets and check bonfires before lighting etc.
8. Close and Thanks
BD thanked everyone for attending. It was noted that perhaps holding AGM earlier in the year would be appropriate and would encourage more people to attend.
